Cane Creek Valley Market

Cane Creek Valley Market is a nearby vegetable stand. Marietta says that their heirloom organic tomatoes are possibly the best tomatoes that she has ever had. These heirloom tomatoes and some of the other vegetables are grown within walking distance at Cane Creek Valley Farm. This USDA certified organic farm also sells wholesale to some local grocery stores.  They are soon opening an ice cream shop on site with outdoor seating.  We can’t wait to try it!

We all have our favorite dish at Piazza. My dad and I favor wood fired pizza, my sister loves the pasta, and my mom likes a delicious sub. This Asheville Area restaurant truly has some thing for everyone. Enjoy the weekday lunch special of a huge slice of wood fired pizza with salad. Shown here is the wood fired oven. This family-friendly restaurant is located only 5 miles from The Cove at Fairview.

Smokey and The Pig!!

Smokey and the Pig has some of the best ribs in the Asheville Area. We also love the sweet potato crunch – we get that at least twice a week. Smokey and the Pig is also a great place to get catering from. This Fairview restaurant is positively involved in the local community in a way that inspires us! Enjoy some authentic Southern cooking!

Early Girl Eatery!!

We have eaten at Early Girl Eatery many times over the years and every meal has been delicious. Shown here is a Black Bean and Cheddar Omelet, one of our favorite dishes any time of the day. Early Girl is a farm to table restaurant which means they buy many ingredients from local farms and emphasize seasonal food. They have 3 convenient locations but we love eating at the downtown location which has a great view of Pritchard Park.

Rise Above Bakehouse!!

Many of our guests celebrate meaningful milestones while staying with us. Honeymoons, anniversaries, reunions, and of course birthdays are some of these occasions. This month we celebrated two birthdays – Haley turning 4 and Frank turning 71. We celebrated with a cake (shown here) from Rise Above and it was delicious! Rise Above is a coffee shop and bakery in Fairview. Check out their homemade bread, made to order deli sandwiches, and scrumptious desserts! Be sure you order custom made cake 72 hours before pick-up. Rise Above is located only 3 miles from the Cove at Fairview.

Troyer’s Amish Store!!

Troyer’s Amish Store features a wide selection of fresh deli meats and cheeses. We love their Smoked Tavern Turkey, and we definitely buy their Amish Butter Cheese at least once a week. In addition to fresh deli meats and cheeses, they also offer made-to-order deli sandwiches, baked goods, party trays, gift baskets, and more. Troyer’s Amish Store is located just 1 mile from The Cove at Fairview.

Hilltop Ice Cream!!

Hilltop Ice Cream has something for everyone.  Their extensive collection of homemade ice cream includes everything from the traditional (chocolate, vanilla, strawberry) to the unique.  I recommend the lavender honey ice cream made with local honey.  Sorbet, vegan ice cream, and sugar free ice cream are also available.  This Asheville Area Ice Cream Shop is located just 3 miles from the Cove at Fairview. Enjoy!

Sky Mountain Pizza!!

Sky Mountain Pizza is one of the best pizza places in the Asheville Area. These pizzas feature home-made crust topped with fresh ingredients. Shown here is a veggie lover’s pizza (minus what we had for lunch)! In addition to pizza, they offer spaghetti and delicious subs. We also love their breakfast, especially the egg and cheese biscuit.

These items are convenient to pick-up as this great Asheville area restaurant is located just 4 miles from The Cove at Fairview.

Nachos and Beer!!

Inside this shiny diner is one of the best Mexican restaurants you will ever eat at. The menu is extensive and don’t miss their lunch specials. Even though the food arrives quickly, you will want to stay all day to enjoy great food and good company. Seen here is a steak taco salad, one of our favorites. Don’t miss eating at this Asheville Area restaurant! Nachos and Beer – (828) 298-2280

Looking Glass Creamery!!

Visit this award-winning local creamery. Sample the amazing cheeses and caramel sauce!

Spoiler alert: you will have a hard time choosing which types of delicious cheese to take home. Last visit we bought one of our all-time favorites – Chocolate Lab. We also bought Ridgeline – soon to be a new favorite!

If you have time, please enjoy some wine with a cheese tray in this idyllic setting. Looking Glass Creamery is, in our opinion, one of the top Asheville Area Attractions.
